- In this week’s column we are focusing on “owner turnover animals.” The economic downturn has had a dramatic effect on the world of homeless animals. Animal shelters all around the country have received record numbers of animals from owners who have lost their homes. In most cases, these animals already have basic training such as being housebroken. Our shelter is no different, and we are filled to the brim.
